I'm having an issue with connecting my Hololens to the Unity profiler. When I enter the ip after selecting "active profiler" Unity fails to connect to the device. I've tried this on two different computers (even on different wifi networks) and I've tried different versions of Unity including Unity 5.5.1f1 and 5.6.0f3. I am, however, always able to connect to the device developer portal when entering the ip in my browser.

Lastly I tried installing the Holographic Remoting app which seems to connect to the device, however, Unity crashes when trying to play the scene.

    Am I missing something here?

It looks like you are not using the incorrect IP address, 192.x.x.x is usually the local/private IP. You want to use the public IP address and verify your hololens is connected to the internet through Wi-Fi.

192.x.x.x is my ip on the local area network, wouldn't that be the one? Anyhow I attempted to fetch my public ip address, but it didn't let me connect either.

Did you enable internet capabilities in the manifest or player settings? You won't be able to connect to hololens without those capabilities enabled.

Oh and btw - connecting to local IP address should work just fine.

That did the trick! I had enabled Internet (Client), but it seems like enabling Internet (Client & Server) was required.
