Cannot edit Edge Collider 2D

I have a Game Object with an EdgeCollider2D on it. When I click the "Edit collider" button the component, the little green squares do not appear. If I use a BoxCollider2D instead, it's fine; I can edit it because the little green squares appear but not with the EdgeCollider2D.

I've seen the collider edit not working well if the objecthas an z-position very far away from 0.

I am having this issue. SO annoying. I figured it out yesterday, but now can't remember what I did.

I was having this issue and it was really frustrating. I tried the message boards and none of the solutions worked.

Then I restarted Unity and it was working normally. Who knew...

The same with me. I restarted and it worked. Before that, I noticed that my console was notifying some errors, and I wonder if those errors were the source of the malfunction.

I had been having the same issue as well.

Personally, my issue came from me having two Inspector tabs. Only one is defined "as master" (which one it is, seems to depend on the project??).

If you try to edit with another one, the green line appears but not the green boxes to edit it.

Necro bump. I've been having this issue a lot. Realised after reading what @Baste said that I've been using Z:0 on objects.

Changed my Z to 1 and BAM. Working.

Would be great to have a warning or something in the inspector when this is happening.

Hello Everybody... I get it old thread, but this issue still persists today. The solution that I found was to make sure that you are in 3d view not 2d.... Hopefully this helps somebody:)

hay bud have you made sure that all the scales on the Z are set to more than 1 (on the gameobject that has the edge collider) (like hydrobeef said but i thought he meant position originally)

oh also parent objects can effect this too so make sure every parent has its Z scale more than 1

thank you, problem came from location on z axis. Put in 3D and adjusted z axis and worked/
