For some reasons i cannot download anything from asset store, also the images & videos in assets is not loaded properly, it just blank, when trying to download an asset, it will goes into 0% and then goes into error.

And the strange thing is browsing using either chrome or firefox is working (the asset images and videos being displayed).

I am on Unity 5.5.2f1, windows 10 x64, dns resolve being done through dnscrypt.

Already checked, windows firewall permission for unity editor, turned off windows firewall, using default my isp dns (not using dnscrypt).

So I had just purchased the Unity extension, Gaia, and have since tried to download it multiple times including shutting down the application and restarting with each attempt resulting in an error saying "{name} failed to download". Is this an error with my computer or the asset store or possibly with the package that I just bought? Is anyone else having a similar issue?

unity assetstore is using amazon cloudfront, from trello currently they are having issue with amazon s3, could be related service disruption from amazon cloud products.

+1 for unity posting their realtime current services status and outage.

Has this sort of thing happened before? How long did it take for them to fix the issue?

Confirmed, some services disruption on amazon US, unless unity have backup CDN backend then we might be out of luck, waiting from amazon as upstream to fix it. No idea if these has happened before but it's quite a shame for big cloud provider as amazon to get such disruption.

Its weird because I just download a different free asset package from the asset store and it came through fine although when I retried downloading what I was trying to earlier I still got an error message.

I had this problem once before when I had multiple versions of unity installed (current and beta). I uninstalled both, then re-installed just the current version and the problem went away - temporarily.

Today I uninstalled 5.6.0f2 and installed 5.6.0f3 and the problem has returned. I can no longer download ANYTHING from the asset store. Not free things, or ones I've purchased. No error in the logs, just the freakin button changing immediately from "Download" to "Error". The folder does get created, so it doesn't appear to be a file permission problem. I've tried running Unity as Administrator, and I've temporarily disabled antivirus and firewall.

Put in ANOTHER support request just now. Any ideas anyone?

If unity still using amazon cloudfront, then from the status check in here showing all is good, it might be your isp run some kind of caching mechanism or your isp experiencing some services / infrastructures disruption to the unity's CDN backend.

I haven't confirmed it yet about your claim, as i am currently re-installing my windows, and waiting for unity 5.6.1p1. Normally if it's a services disruption, there will be a lot of thread asking to unity regarding the matter.

Anyone know what server these requests go to, ad what port is used? With that we could try to track down where things are going wrong. There's nothing useful in the logs.

You could use tools like process monitor to monitor the process's api calls. Be aware because of it as using a driver system, it might or sometime crashes your system, especially with windows 10 above, so make sure save your works before doing so.

There is also other tools like api monitor which precisely monitor api calls. Also you could use wireshark to monitor the request calls after getting the ip/host.

I worked out my problem. The network router was blocking the domain d2ujflorbtfzji.cloudfront.net which the asset store apparently uses. You'd think Unity support would have this on their radar. If you can't ping that, then the download isn't going to work.

@naveen0687 I logged into my router and found there was a list of banned domains. I don't remember where this list came from. But I removed cloudfront.net from the list and I was able to connect again. You could also resolve the problem by running thru a VPN or editing your "hosts" file and put in that domain and the appropriate IP address for it. So 3 possible solutions.

Downloading assets inside the unity editor has always been hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can download and import several in a row with no problem. Sometimes the asset store window will stop working after downloading one or two assets. Maybe 15 minutes later, downloading will suddenly start to work again. Sometimes I can't even view my favorites list in the editor. It's not on my end and It's not a router problem for me, because I have used different routers and internet service providers and computers and the problem persists. I have noticed that downloading large files fails more often than small. Downloading works better at night, and always starts working again for me, sooner or later.
