Hello :). Does anybody know why I can't see the "delete" button in the Package Manager? I can't seem to be able to delete any of the two packages I installed :(.

    I'm using Unity 2020 1.6f1

According to what I've been seeing online, there should be a delete button next to "Update". Instead, I see no delete button anywhere on the screen. I looked 10 times :(

Change the Packages dropdown at top of Package Manager window from ‘My Assets’ to ‘In Project’.

Thank you very much! :)... wait... no!

If I switch to "My Project", the packages I want to remove are gone :(. Even though I imported them in the project, they are not listed there. It's "Power Inspector" I want to remove. It's not even listed.

So does anybody know how to remove a package from a project? This is what I'm seeing:

It does not look like you have the package in the project. What problem are you trying to solve? First thing, make a full back up. If you see folders in your Project hierarchy that look like they are left there after a package was removed, you can simply delete them.

Hi, Jeff :). The problem I'm trying to solve is removing a package that exists in my project. Just to clarify, here are the steps I went through:

    1. Import Power Inspector & Peek into my project.
    2. The directories exist on my storage, the scripts are there.
    3. The two assets show up & function inside my project.
    4. I cannot see the button to remove them.

    Possibly a bug?

But in that post the Unity staff actually says "As far as I know, there is no way. This is one problem the new Package Manager is trying to solve."

Since that was 2018 and now it's 2020 and the Asset Store is gone from the Editor I'm thinking this Package Manager should deal with removing assets from the project.

Or, maybe I'm getting it all wrong and I just have to simply delete the files of these assets manually and that's it :)

Quote from post by DanielTG (Unity Technologies):

"Unfortunately, the .unitypackage format from the Asset Store doesn't allow us to track which Assets are installed in project like we can with the newer UPM format"

Thank you for the informative reply Valjuin! :)

So, in other words, I should delete manually :)

2023 packages still can't be removed from Unity

Can I have a solution for such complicated issue??

old packages also generating csproj files and my vscode always showing error when saving script changes, so manual removal doesn't help

    manually remove package folder then

    close unity and remove:

    Library
    obj
    Logs

open project and all will become normal

    hope it'll help someone
