Bug Cannot create new HDRP scene

I am unable to create a new HDRP scene after a fresh install of the editor and addons.

- Installed 2021.3.29
- Installed HDRP extension.
- Installed Microsplat.
- Installed PlayMaker.

There are no scripts or code; just an empty project folder with those addons in it and nothing else.

Ctrl-N to create a new scene.

Get 4 options: Basic Indoors (HDRP), Basic Outdoors (HDRP), Empty, and Basic (Built-in). Selecting either of the HDRP scenes and clicking "Create" opens a prompt to choose the save location for the scene, clicking Okay closes the prompt, and nothing happens. No scene file is created and nothing changes.

I have had this occur twice now on two different machines. Any help is appreciated.

 

Are you creating your project from unity Hub? Perhaps the unity temp cache where the base editor packages are installed are missing or not fully complete.

On PC unity creates a lot of data in a hidden AppData folder, this is where licence, editor cache. Asset store downloads and editor project shared data, things like that are installed.

Sounds to me this isn't correct for the 2023 download you have. You can try reinstalling it's state through unity hub Which should also rebuild those hidden folders, if you're not to confident digging into those yourself.
