    Hi all,

I'm on a mac and have the latest version of Unity (at this moment of writing) but to be hounoust I've always had a problem with all versions of Unity and osx: I Cannot open exported Unity apps from any other folder or location than my desktop.
I've tried fixing permissions on the app but that didn't make a difference. I couldn't find any info on it. If there is please point me in the right direction. Maybe somebody has an answer? Thanks so much in advance. Kind regards.

Nobody had this problem before? That is super weird because I have a lot of students encountering the same issue as I do...Still hoping for a reply from somebody

Are you getting any errors when you try to open the app? If not, try opening Console and checking for errors there during startup. Alternatively check for errors in the unity app's own log found here:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.mycompany.myapp/Data/Library/Logs/Unity

One thing that could cause the app to silently fail during startup is having Mac App Store validation ticked in your build settings, without actually signing and distributing your app properly, so check that that setting is off.

I've never noticed that specific problem with apps only being openable from the desktop, perhaps if you're using school/university computers, permissions are locked in some way? It might be worth checking with an IT admin.
