    Hi!

I downloaded 2017.2 and tried to upgrade my project, that was version 5.6.1p3 previously, and got the following error:

    Opening file failed

    Opening file /Users/{myUserName}/Library/Unity/cache/packages/packages.unity.com/com.unity.ads@1.0.7/Editor/Resources/Editor/portrait.jpg.meta: Permission denied

With options: Force Quit, Cancel, Try Again

It does not work if I push Try Again or Cancel, I have tried to press them multiple times. I did also try to open it with the new patch 2017.2.0p1 without success.

I then tried to open the project in 2017.1, which worked fine.

I am running Unity on Mac OSX High Sierra with the disk being formatted as APFS (Encrypted)

    Anyone encountered this problem?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi!

Try to delete "Library" folder and reopen. Unity will reconstruct all library, it will take a long time if your project is big.

Thank you for your response SeriouSerg!

I just tried that, and it did not help. I tried to open it on Windows also, and there it worked. Seems like there are some permission things regarding macOS?
