Can not make a light

I was trying to make light using Brackeys tutorial but I can not get it to work. I have all my objects on static so I don't know what is wrong.

 

Have you lightmapped your scene?

I did do that but it only works if I add the lighting component to the object. I want to make it an Emission light I have turned on the setting for the material but it is not glowing I have also turned everything else to static.
