    smaller keyboard.

    Going fast can help out a professional modeler maybe but I think going slow and thinking carefully is how you develop games fast, generally.

    There is such thing as 3d mouse which could help with scene navigation, but compatibility could be a PITA. Maybe somebody can say something about that.

    Programmable mice with macros can probably help you along that. Just make "HOLD" keys into toggles. Like instead of hold ALT to enable camera movememnts you toggle.

    @Murgilod probably knows something about typing with a dictation device. I think she's wrote about that before.

    In the meantime though, since there is a chance setting up and ensuring compatibility with stuff like this will take time and frustration, I'd just continue on and if typing one handed goes a little slower I wouldn't sweat it. Some people just got stupid brain and that slows them down even more. Others get distracted too easily.. Others don't have enough free time. So no matter there is some limitation you got to overcome.

    If you're limited to the use of one hand, you'll basically have to spend a lot of time changing around the hotkeys, but thankfully this is actually possible from the settings menu. I can't really offer much more help than that, I'm afraid. Most of my direct experience with Unity in accessibility contexts specifically have more involved limited range of motion pretty evenly spread across both hands.

    An 'MMO mouse' with a load of extra buttons might be useful. You can get a left-handed version of the Razer Naga.

    It depends on what you want to do. If we talk about programming, then I think you can do this using even one finger. 90% of programming time is thinking about the structure of the code, refactoring and patterns, and only 10% is the direct writing of the code. The engine interface can be operated with only mouse . Of course, you will have to forget about the hot keys, but I don't remember when I last used them in Unity. I can't say anything about 3D modeling and drawing, I've never done it. I think most indie and solo developers buy ready-made 3D models, sounds, etc. from other people or order from freelancers.

    @looot1985 absolutely you can. I suggest the best way to go about would be to just start following tutorials and trying to see how you get on. Every time you find something is awkward or not possible due to accessibility, adjust/create hotkeys to help. If that isnt a solution to the issue, write it down and get in touch with unity about it, and write on here. If there isnt an official solution, there probabaly is one in the community via github or assetstore to help. And if not, voicing the issue may get you help anyway as the community here are great.

    I recommend getting bolt (Free, eventually built into unity in future) to help with coding as you can then make code with one hand easily using nodes. (but do not feel put off from typed code, no reason you cannot do that with one hand!)

    I recommend shader graph for shaders for the same reason.

    I would also recommend emailing unity support directly, I am 100% sure you are not the first person to be in your situation that they have come across and perhaps they will have some more targeted help to provide, not sure what that may be but certainly worth the enquiry. They are very helpful with matters such as this, although it may take a while to get a reply.

    Good luck and welcome to the community!

    I was excited when I ran across this thread as I have one hand then disappointed with the responses. Programing is straightforward with one hand but in going through the tutorials I continually ran across instructions like 'hold down the alt key and the shift key while using the left mouse button to select ...' Such things are impossible for me.

    I'm investigating the suggestion for hot keys but so have no solution (shortcuts don't work for this problem). I'm told that there are alternate ways of achieving the same Unity functionality and sometimes the Unity tutorials describe them but when such alternates are missing it becomes nearly impossible to find these alternates in a timely fashion. I would appreciate it if someone has a list of alternate ways to achieve Unity's functionality that they would be willing to share.

    I thank looot1985 for starting this thread. I hope we get more responses.

    I looked up an alternative keyboard that only requires 1 hand.
    I found this :
    https://www.tapwithus.com/
    But it seems to cover mouse movement, and full range of keyboard input with just 1 hand.

    I am not affiliated in any ways nor have I used Tap, but it sounds interesting for the problem.

    Possible approaches in situation when one hand is non-functional:
    * Look for a way to map modifier keys (shift/alt) onto mouse buttons.
    * One-handed keyboards. I've seen this monster on youtube, for example:
    upload_2022-4-14_9-13-16.png
    * "Foot Mouse"
    * Voice control:
    * Mouth mouse.

    Basically it depends on the problem and its severity. Humans are flexible, when one limb is not working, they use others to compensate. but there's a high chance that a custom solution might be needed.

    There are mice available with more than the usual number of buttons. The Logitech G600 is my mouse of choice for the reason that it has an array of 12 buttons near the thumb but it is right-handed only.

    https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Backlit-Programmable-Buttons/dp/B0086UK7IQ

    For people who are left-handed there is the Razer Naga but it's much more expensive.

    You can program the buttons on these so if you need to hit alt or control you can do so through the mouse itself.
