I am building a puzzle game. Each puzzle is defined by a 6kb json data file. When the users are finished with a puzzle, I’d like to give them the opportunity to download a new game data file, so they can work on another puzzle. Can I use the Content Delivery System to serve these data files to my users?

    Hi Rosco_y,

Yes, you can use Cloud Content Delivery for this use case.

    Best,

    Hi Rosco_y
Thanks for posting I was discussing with my colleague Jonathan.
Please correct me if I misunderstood.

Puzzle 1 - Created with the game
Puzzle 2 - Downloaded via CCD
Puzzle 3 - Downloaded via CCD
    ...

You can achieve the same with Remote Config depending on how your game is structured.

    Example

Puzzle 1 - Created with the game
Puzzle 2 - Fetched by Remote Config
Puzzle 3 - Fetched by Remote Config
    ...

Since you are not sending any assets and just json data this method would be more convenient. You would be able to edit the json parameter on the fly changing puzzles instantly.

    Example:

You could also do some A/B testing (make a puzzle harder for some users and easier for others) and much much more.

    Hope this helps you out.

Thank You! I was thinking I'd have to make an ASP.NET Web Service to deliver my data files. Now I can stop worrying about that!

    Hi SebT!

Thank you for such great information! I obviously have a lot to learn, but at least I'm paddling in the right direction!
