Nope, not buying anything. Don't need any more games distracting me.

    *Notices a sale item*

Okay. Maybe one game. But just that one.

*Looks back at the Steam page*

Err... never mind. I knew I had some mad money lying around for a reason. :)

I'm actually currently playing 7 Days to Die. Only have about an hour in, but decent feel so far. It is a lot more polished than when I looked at videos of play six months ago, which is why I took the chance of picking it up. (I know six months means it should be more polished, but we all know that doesn't actually mean it will be with some early access games.)

The lighting annoys my eyes though; kind of washed out in places. I also have problems in some areas picking out the collectible items sitting on the ground. (Which are both probably more my defective eyes than anything.)

Hoping to grab SpinTires on sale. I suggest Project Temporality for people looking for something unique and trippy mindset after playing it. ;-)

Honestly, I hardly buy during summer sale cause there's not alot of new games I want. Most games I want come out Fall/Winter, so I wait for Christmas Sale to get them 66+% off.

I feel like I have to play the 30-40 games from previous sales... at least some... before I can justify buying more games. I also have a backlog of like 10 PS3 games to play, and I seem to play like 2 a year, so it's going to be a while. Add in that I'm a PS+ member, I seem to get more games. I should probably play the PS4, but it sits there too. I am seeing a trend...

Lots of games I'd be interested in; however, I just don't have the time and finally realize that buying more games won't make time for me to play them.

Oh yeah, and then there's Hearthstone. It seems to take up the few free minutes I have here and there. Maybe they need a steam sale on Hearthstone decks? I might actually buy one, though it'd have to be like 98% off.

I usually take this opportunity to buy a game I wouldn't normally buy. Last year, I bought the a couple of batman games that I love and Bioshock Infinite. So far I've got State of Decay and E.Y.E. (can't go wrong with a 99 cent game!)

    The first one?
If so, give the second one a chance if you find this one boring/tedious after a while. The first AC has way too much repetition.

I never buy from Steam. I don't support DRM, and I don't support Steam's monopoly on PC gaming.

If I buy a game, it's from the developer's website first. If that's not possible, I go to GoG, then GreenManGaming. I usually have to end up using steam's horrid DRM anyway, but if I spent my money on the game then I "crack that s***" because the game is mine, and so I can play my singleplayer game without having to start up Steam's evil DRM.

I mean, seriously, I can't be the only one who wants to play a singleplayer game without having to be connected to the internet. And no, once I validate it once by running it while online, it doesn't just allow me to play offline. Anytime I start my games, it starts steam. If Steam can't start, I can't play. Even if I've played hundreds of times before.

That, and Steam sells scams on its frontpage. It advertises them, right alongside their no-refund policy. I don't support businesses of any type which sell scam games. It is even worse than them just selling the scams. They literally will advertise scams on their front page. A week AFTER Steam was caught scamming people with WAR Z, and the internet media sources called them on it, they refunded everyone and apologized. One week later, the same game, the same scam, the same broken PoS WAR Z was put on the front page, hanging on for a month. Then later, they allowed it to be renamed and rebranded, to try to confuse people. They willfully put it on the front page AGAIN to sell more copies of the scam to more people who didn't know it was the same game despite the different name. That game doesn't just have the worst score every given to a video game. It is a literal scam in more than just one way. A game no business should associate with. WAR Z is not the only scam they have on there either. Hell, the no refund policy alone is such BS, especially for such a wealthy monopoly that can pocket the cost of refunds for games which are broken.
I am not alone in this. Steam has a horrid BBB score, and those who aren't steam fanboys don't care for it at all. Those who oppose DRM hate it.

Yet Steam loves games like WAR Z because it brings in money, and money is their god.

Steam is all about greed, DRM, and a monopoly. There is literally no reason to support it.

I'd rather keep my integrity and spend a few extra dollars (even if that means $58.99 extra dollars), than to sell my soul to such an immoral business.

I blame them. Even if they are allowed to be immoral, it is still their choice to be immoral.

They are free to be as altruistic and as full of integrity as they want.

No one is forcing them to worship money and bow to greed at every opportunity.

I've got a lot of indie games from previous sales. This time around I went AAA. So I've bought Bioshock Inifine and Skyrim. I think that will be it for this sale for me.

    Loved it.
It's sad that in some aspects it was weaker than its predecessor. The soundtrack is probably the best I've ever heard in a game. (Don't check it out, it contains spoilers [<- not kidding]).

Yes. It allows those who work hard and do it right to be successful. Of course there are downsides as well, but what's the alternative? What system has ever worked better than capitalism? I know this is getting off topic, but I'm just sayin...

    Yeah, but:
    1. That's not Steam's fault - The people voted for it, am I wrong?
    2. Even if it was Steam's fault, my point still stands.
You're right though that game was sad.

    Edit:
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to defend Steam. I don't know or care enough. This is what I was taking issue with:
I have more to say but I won't, because this is very off topic.

    What does that mean?

"One of those people"...who have integrity and don't like people being scammed?

You have a problem with that? Do you enjoy others being scammed?
    You support DRM?

Id love for you to elaborate, as most people would agree with me that they dislike drm, scams, archaic/greedy policy, and monopolies.

    You are wrong.
Steam has to approve it for sale. Steam is also always responsible for its sales.
Steam isn't guilt free because people voted for a game without playing it.
Steam employees have to play the game first, before they evem accept it.
Otherwise you could just upload a virus that was successfully on greenlight.
Steam is not about quality, it is about money.

War Z anyone? Er wait, I mean Infestation: Suvivor Stories. Front page ad x2 ftw!

Ahh cmon, working hard has nothing to do with being a millionaire , things just don't happen that way.
Most of the times is the people that are more able to explore other's that get on top, not saying is always like that, but capitalism is very far from being a moral way to divide wealth among our society.
I have no clue what system is better than capitalism, but I know our current system sucks big time.
It's not right to be in the XXI century where people die in the streets of cold, disease's or misery, and others live lifes as kings.
But well, this is off topic :)

How about we stay on topic about Steam?

Id like to see all the fanboys and people lacking integrity defend their support of War z, landing on the front page a week after they were caught scamming with lies. Then months later when the name changed, landed on the front page again. Steam limed the idea of a name change because it meant more money.

They did not place it on their front page again because they thought people would like one of the worst scams in gaming history.

What of the forced DRM? You have to be online to player games you've played hundreds of times before (even in offline mode).

What of the monopoly they are dangerously holding? You guys are suppose to be developers. Why would anyone like one business deciding if your game sells or flops? Why allow them the power in the first place?

And the no refund policy. In europe, they have laws protecting their citizens from Steam scams and broken games. Steam doesn't adopt this policy. They hate it. Euro customers have to quote the law for them to change their mind. Other citizens of other nations are powerless. All from a company who makes so much money they could easily refund for broken games. Hell, they are a monopoly. They could force ddevelopers to give the money back if they wanted to be that greedy. The devs could do nothing about it.

Yet they do nothing. Nothing but try to sqeeze every penny from the faceless customers.

I want to hear the fanboys defend this greed.

How daft are you? Your lack of a basic economic/societal understanding while ranting on a forum about it is disturbing.

Please explain to me how Steam is a monopoly. Please I honestly beg you.

"A monopoly exists when a specific person or enterprise is the only supplier of a particular commodity" - Wikipedia.

How is steam the only supplier of digital games? *cough* UPlay, Origin, Humble Store, and company stores */end cough* Do all those places sell donuts or something and the "games" part is a big joke?

WarZ I do agree was a scam, however I fail to understand how Steam was behind it. They made a big mistake letting that description through, however I have no problem with the game itself being on steam. In the end Steam obviously agreed it was false advertising and pulled it, including REFUNDING all purchases. Yet, they are an evil monopolistic money whore?

Why should Steam allow refunds? It's not like you can't watch playthroughs, read reviews, or play the demo. If you buy a game and don't like it; honestly I can only blaim you for not doing your research.

If you don't like Steam, use another service as they are NOT the only supplier of video games digitally. Simple as that.
