Buttons no longer work 4.6.0p1

    I can't click any of my buttons after updating to p1. OnClick is not firing, and the colour transitions aren't showing. I haven't found anything in the release notes that would cause this.

    Pretty frustrating. Any else having problems?

    Having the same issues occasionally in 4.6.0f3. Possibly hiding behind another event trigger since making the buttons super large and clicking on some other part of them works.

    I think that must be a different issue. Mine went from working perfectly in f3, to not at all in p1. Affecting all buttons (all sizes).

    I managed to get around this. Something must have changed with p1.

    I am using two canvases. One for UI, and one to just display a background. For some reason they weren't playing nicely with each other. The background canvas was getting all the EventSystem data. I removed the GraphicRaycaster from the background canvas, as it wasn't being used in this case. This fixed the issue.

    This was pointed out in another thread as well. I'm looking into the issue. It seem a change that was made worked in our test case but not in other cases. Fixing it and running more tests against more use cases to make sure.

    I've just resolved the issue hope to get it in to the next public release.

    i don't remember when the next public release is...

    And yea i've seen a lot of that bug... I'm going to have to talk to people monday about it.

    Any Windows 8.1 apps bugs being fixed in the next release? Such as the text input? And making it work for touch-screen PCs?

    I'm having the same thing with the new UI. People are touching the buttons but half they time they are just getting highlighted and not working and other times are working.

    I can ask the WP8 guys if they have done anything recently. My guess would be no as i think they are under pressure for 5.0

    Edit: I asked and he checked the bug DB for WP8 and i checked the UI one and neither have any bugs related to WP8 Issues.

    Do you know of specific things you can file as issues?

    Ah I see where the confusion is. As I did NOT say WP8. I said Windows 8.1 Metro apps.

    There are TONNES of bugs with the UI for Windows Metro apps.

    You had an entire competition dedication to making apps for Windows Metro/WP8. I don't understand why Unity 4.6 wouldn't work with this?

    In particular NONE of the controls work on Windows 8 touch screens. The sliders don't work with touch. Which is the WHOLE POINT of Windows 8.

    The Text Input is COMPLETELY BROKEN for Windows 8 apps. The backspace causes errors. The on-screen keyboard is COMPLETELY BROKEN for Windows 8 apps. Touching controls sometimes goes through and activates controls underneath. It is a complete shambles!!!!!

    Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Can someone fix these bugs?

    Have you not got a SINGLE PERSON working on these bugs?

    I repeat. THE UNITY 4.6 GUI IS COMPLETELY BROKEN FOR WINDOWS METRO APPS.

    If you don't fix them AT LEAST SAY ON THE DOWNLOAD PAGE THAT THE UI IS BROKEN FOR WINDOWS 8 PC METRO APPS. And warn people not to use it?

    Sorry for the capitals but I am completely frustrated at the prospect of having to remove all the UI from the apps I've been working on for ages. When it would only take a few days for Unity to fix the UI bugs for WINDOWS METRO APPS (NOT WINDOWS PHONE APPS).

    Hi,
    I have the same kind of issues. My UI Input Buttons act really weird: It seems to make a double click even if I press the button just once. I have the problem on surface RT. As I have a dash and double jump system, it's really annoying. I have deploy my game on iPad and WP8 and everything works fine!
    Am I the only one with that kind of issue?
