Hi I'm building a top down shooter and I would really like to have a building component where you can place floor and wall tiles. I would like to be able to place them on a tile map for easy symmetry. I don't have any scripts for it yet so I would need something from scratch. I would also like to be able to put in different art easily with a menu in game to access so I don't just have that like if you press j you will build with left and right click. Thanks so much

This is a little outdated for the current versions of Unity, but could be a good starting point for what you need: https://github.com/Unity-Technologies/2d-gamedemo-robodash .

It contains brushes which lets you setup a top-down level, including placement of floors and walls together, as well as other brushes for placement of in-game items.
