    When I try to build I get this message in the console:

    I am new with Windows 10(have built for iOS and android earlier though) and I dont understand this message, can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Do you have Visual Studio 2015 installed?

    Thanks for answering!
    Yes I have Visula Studio 2015 installed. I used Monodevelop to write my scripts though. I just tested to open one of them in visual and there in the 'Solution Explorer* it says ...Provar.CSharp.Plugins(incompatibel)
    This project is incompatible with current edition

    I dont have any plugins in my project, it is a brand new one with only the scripts reused from the same project on my Mac?

    Is that a release version of VS?
    Can you post the exact build number from about dialog?

    Version looks ok, but it's community version. Are you able to create Universal Windows 10 application using it?

    No, I cant. This is my first attempt to build in windows with Unity.
    So I have maybe got the wrong version, I'll read up again about whats needed then. There was a lot of programs that I downloaded.

    I can not get it to work! I have uninstalled and reiinstalled and restarted my computer between every cycle and every install. I have done it in different order - Unity first, then VS and windows10SDK or the other way around. Same error message as in first post.

    Visual Studio, Unity and Windows 10 kit are in Program Files.
    I can see Visual Studio Tools for Unity in the About in Visual Studio.
    I have UnityVS as a folder in Project view i Unity 5.2.1p4

    What can I try next?

    That's weird. Could you check whether this environment variable is set on your machine?

    Type "set" command into command prompt. It will list all of your environment variables.

    Thanks again, this makes me even more determined because I feel so rusty, was years since I really used my pc for something like this :).

    But this is the only lines I found in there with ' (86)' 86.jpg

    Oh damn, looks like you're using 32-bit OS! That explains whole bunch of stuff - looks like we have a bug in our code that assumes you're on 64-bit.

    Either way, here's a workaround:

    1. Open up advanced system settings, press on "Environment Variables..." button:



    2. Under system variables, press new:



    3. Type in following values:



    4. Press OK on all dialog boxes to save your changes.
    5. Reboot your machine
    6. Try building from Unity again.

    You did not forget to reboot windows, did you?

    If you type "set" command in command prompt, do you see "ProgramFiles(x86)" environment variable?

    No, I did reboot first time but with a check again I could not see Program Files(86) so I must have spelled it wrong I guess. Did it again and now I can see this:

    You mistyped it :(.

    It's "ProgramFiles(x86)", you're missing "x" before 86. There's also no space in between "Program" and "Files".

    Are you using 32-bit OS?
    First of all make sure you have Visual Studio 2015 with Universal Windows 10 support.
    Also, please execute the "set" command in command line and see if you have ProgramFiles environment variables.

    I also have this problem, I did all the suggested steps above (I installed windows sdk, I set my environment variable program files(x86) despite my pc is 64bit OS) What should I do?

    You probably messed your machine up by doing that. If you're OS is 64-bit, ProgramFiles(x86) should point to "C:\Program Files (x86)". You should undo it and reboot. If you still can't build after that, please paste exactly what Unity is complaining about.
