Build - IL2CPP errors - Please, how fix it?

    Hello, I have problem with build my Android game. Whne i want use IL2CPP, i cant build my game. In console is this errors:

    When i use Mono, building is working.

    It looks like this is the error message which indicates the problem:

    clang++.exe: error: no such file or directory: 'C:\Users\Vladim?r Dubeck?\Desktop\Geometry jump - kopie\Library\il2cpp_android_armeabi-v7a\il2cpp_cache\AC9A2E9056678649598B692E5353E9B3.o'

    I suspect those '?' characters that are not part of the ASCII character set. I think that the Android NDK has trouble with these characters. I would recommend locating your Unity project in a path which has only ASCII characters. That might work.

    Hi @JoshPeterson : I have similar error. I have tried what you said but error didnt clear.

    These are my error logs.

    I'm just upgraded to Unity 2018.3.12f1 and tried to build my project using IL2CPP. I pressed the Build button on the Build Settings Window. After everything is over, there was "Build completed with a result of 'Succeeded' " message in the console window with two error messages. And then, my project folder's location was open instead of giving me my APK file. Then, I opened the project folder and there was not any APK file in it again.

    The first error here that indicate the cause of the problem is:

    It looks like there is code in Facebook.Unity.dll which requires some native library on iOS to be present in the build. That library is not present for Android, so this error occurs.

    Is it possible to remove the Facebook.Unity.dll from the project? Or can you remove the iOS-only part of it?

    Hi @JoshPeterson : Thank you for your reply. I have removed the iOS folder from facebook SDK and tried to build and same error exists. And I found the error is from Facebook.Unity.dll and I found this file but I can't able to delete because its the main file I think.
    I have attached a screenshot for your reference.

    I'm not too familiar with the Facebook SDK for Unity, unfortunately. There should be some way to get it work with an Android player build. Maybe the Facebook SDK documentation has more details?

    i just create one empty proyect to try to build it in webgl ( because in my proyect i cant so i want to check if it is my proyect or unity) and i get errors. I try it on unity 2018.3 first and becuase it dosnt work i dowload 2019.3 and try again whit a empty proyect and get errors too. Srry for my bad english.

    This looks like a different issue from the others in this thread.

    There seems to be some problem with the Emscripten compiler running on your computer. Do you happen to have Emscripten installed elsewhere on this machine?

    Also, it might be worth trying to switch the computer to a US-English locale. If that corrects the problem, we would like to know what locale does not work, and have a bug report so that we can correct things for that locale.

    Hello, and thanks for the time @JoshPeterson. I changed to English lenguage, and dowload unity 2017.4.29f1 but still geting the same errors i think. Im new on this so i dont know if i have emscripten elsewhere, how do i check? I have eclipse java oxygen / anaconda3*phyton / game maker studio. I dont know if that info helps lol.     Thanks for trying to change the locale. It is good to know that is not the cause of the issue. Indeed, Emscripten is installed with Unity. I'm unsure about what could cause this. I'll ask our WebGL team for more information.

    Is the Android NDK installed at "C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2019.1.4f1\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\NDK"? The error message seems to indicate it is not installed there.

    This looks like a similar error tot he others in this thread. The Android NDK is not found. It looks like Unity is trying to locate the NDK here:

    /Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor/2019.1.7f1/PlaybackEngines/AndroidPlayer/NDK/Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor/2019.1.7f1/PlaybackEngines/AndroidPlayer/NDK

    Does it exist at that location?

    So I've checked and it was actually at:

    /Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor/2019.1.7f1/PlaybackEngines/AndroidPlayer/NDK/android-ndk-r16b

    So I've unmarked the recommended setup that was enable with unity by default and run another test quite nicely thy so so much Josh, I don't know what have caused it to be searching in the wrong place since I was using the unity default setup, but hey, details.

    I also had these exceptions when building with IL2CPP for Android on Unity 2019.1.2f1. The interesting part of the exception log was this:

    Code (CSharp):

    So the problem was related to the GameCenter plugin I've used. It was referenced even when building for Android and that was causing the build to fail. I had to modify the file containing the above mentioned reference in order to fix the issue:

    This error happens only with the x86 architecture, which is probably not necessary for Android. You can disable building for x86 in the Player Settings.

    No, I mean specifically to disable x86. Unity supports compilation for Android/x86. There are very few Android/x86 devices in use now, so I suspect that you probably don't need to build for x86. This error is specific to the x86 build.

    I'm not sure then. I've only seen this error during x86 builds. Can you submit a bug report to Unity?

    I'm getting a weird IL2CPP error that I can't seem to find anywhere online. I'm trying to build for Android, and I've made sure that my one dll import for IOS has been taken care of (wrapped in a #if UNITY_IOS #endif). I've tried several other settings but I can't seem to fix this error.

    I've not seen this before, but the relevant message is:

    The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform.

    I think this message occurs when the C++ compiler is executed to compile the C++ code IL2CPP generated. So I believe this indicates there is some installation issue with the Android NDK, although I'm not sure what it is.

    Thank you Josh. I tried going back to Unity 2019.1.4 instead of 2019.1.9, which has a separate installation of the NDK and it worked. However, when I uninstalled 2019.1.9 and reinstalled it, it now gives me the same error as guidosalimbeni and exzizt are having (i.e., "error: asm-specifier for input or output variable conflicts with asm clobber list") and I don't have x86 enabled.

    EDIT: Upon further review of this new error and looking at the other forums. It looks like 2019.1.9 has a corrupted NDK and the solution is to install a new r16b NDK from: https://developer.android.com/ndk/downloads/older_releases.html

    Interesting. What version of the NDK is the hub installing? Or better yet, can you give details on how you determined the hub is installing a corrupted NDK?

    I downloaded the new version of Unity to get the IAP Service to import correctly - it wasn't working in the 2019f2 version. Then with the new f1 version (new version is 1 number down not sure why) in the D:// folder with no "spaces" I got the IAP service to import correctly and hope it'll work now. Yet when trying to test and to satisfy Google play's architecture support I'm getting the same issue here with IL2CPP. I don't get it? Shouldn't newer versions be up to date and work even better?

    Could this be the issue? The older version of Unity I have has the ndk-depends.cmd command file while the newer version does not. Not sure what the file is/ if it's important. - Thank you!

    Maybe this is also related to the x86 issue.
    Are we able to copy and paste the ndk-depends.cmd file into the older NDK or will that cause issues?

    Edit: Yes this seems to be the issue - I was able to build with an older NDK which includes the ndk-depends.cmd file (x86, arm7/ w.e etc...)

    This error usually means there is an extern method in C# which does not have a correspond native method. For example, you may want to search your code for the method named: initiateWithClientID. It should have an implementation in native code.

    Since this works for armv7 and not for arm64, I suspect the native library where this method is defined is only compiled for armv7. That native library will need to be compiled for arm64 as well.

    The latest version of Unity in each release steam should work for x86 with Android. If it does not, please submit a bug report so that we can investigate your specific situation.

    Interesting - I don't know what that ndk-depends.cmd file does, but I suspect that problem is that the wrong version of the Android NDK was installed. Maybe the old NDK version is the correct one.

    This is an issue I've not seen before. In this case, are you running the Unity editor as administrator, or with some kind of elevated privileges?

    JoshPeterson to give you an update regarding your inquiry on Friday about the NDK, I'm not sure what version it was installing. As far as I know it should have been r16b, because that's what Unity was asking for if I unchecked the use Android NDK installed with Unity button. So all I did was replace those NDK files that were automatically installed with version r16b downloaded directly from the Android NDK website and it worked. I was using Unity version 2019.1.9 and Unity Hub 2.0.3.

    I am using Unity version 2019.1.10f1 - and have this exact same issue, if I use the downloaded r16b NDK files everything compiles up ok. If I try to download the NDK via the hub or use downloaded NDK r20 I get the above errors.

    Although I still have some other issues after the application is compiled which may or may not be related to the NDK version - still trying to track that down as it involes some dlls / .so files I am using.

    Hi, I am using Unity 2019.1.10f1 (with installed NDK 19). I got many errors similar to these:

    D:\programs\2019.1.9f1\Editor\Data\il2cpp\libil2cpp\os\Unity/ExtendedAtomicOps-arm.h:833:27: error: asm-specifier for input or output variable conflicts with asm clobber list

    : "cc", "memory", "r2", "r3"

    Beside r19 that was installed along with Unity, I tried also r20 (latest) and r18 (previous version) - both throwing errors, compilation failed. Only r16 is working form me and compilation finished.

    No, unity editor is not running as administrator nor is it elevated. only unity hub is elevated.
