Build Error with il2cpp backend

    This usually happens when there is some permission error with the directory of the Unity project. It looks like the Unity editor is unable to write to the Temp directory. Are there any odd permissions here or other tools that might be using this directory?

    It seems the appointed path cannot be found according to the hint.... upload_2018-11-6_13-18-20.png Actually, I can not find the SymbolMap folder in my project... I created a new blank Project on my C Drive and run the Unity as admin,the same mistake happened

    The SymbolMap file should be created by il2cpp.exe. Can you provide the Editor.log file when this happens? I'd like to see how il2cpp.exe is being called.

    This is rather odd. The command line for il2cpp.exe looks correct. If the file at Temp/StagingArea/Data\Native\Data\SymbolMap was not written, there should be another error, but the log seems to suggest that it was written, but then someone deleted.

    Thanks. I've got the Trace. Looks like IL2CPP crashes in function called "Unity.IL2CPP.Building.CppProgramBuilder::ThrowIfCannotBuildInCurrentEnvironment". This usually means you don't have Visual Studio with C++ support installed on your machine. The fix would be to run Unity installer again and make sure Visual Studio checkbox is checked in the installer.

    However, I have no idea why Unity doesn't detect this and print a reasonable error message. Do you have any software that might interfere crashes on machine? One particular outlier I see in the trace is "QQPCTray.exe", which becomes active when IL2CPP crashes. Could it be intercepting IL2CPP errors?

    Thank you very much. Cause I used the vs 2015 instead of vs2017 (cause I get a Unity attaching problem when I used Vs2017 ,that is very slow and sometimes like no response... ). Is there some fix for it,like install some component? upload_2018-11-9_9-57-44.png


    The QQPCTray is supposed to be a tecent program for anti-virus.. I am not sure there is any information in common of this topic...

    VS2015 works, but you need to make sure C++ components are installed. Looks like they're not on your machine.

    Oh,Thanks... But how can I check out whether the C++ components are installed? Or is it with a specific name so I can check it on my program list . Thanks very much

    Nope. Right click on "Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2015" and click Modify. It will be called something like "Common Tools for C++".
