No more cursor offset regression, no more flickering. Thanks a lot to everyone who developed it!

Yesterday I wanted to start a thread like this one but I didn't because I'm very shy  Now that vis2k did it I also want to express my gratitude.

I see people in this forum that still having some serious issues but 5.3.1f1 totally rocks in my case. I have spended last months working on Unity Linux with a little of pain but happy to have Unity on my favourite OS (understanding the risks of an experiemntal build) but I totally refused to switch to Windows again. However 5.3.1f1 fixed some of my biggest issues and now my work is way more comfortable.

I also want to thank the people who maintain the Arch Linux AUR Repository for Unity (who are users of this forum too) for taking Unity to a non-officially supported Linux distro so well and so quickly (I am ashamed to admit that I was hitting F5 in the AUR page after read Tak's 5.3.1f1 announce and changelog despite being suscribed to package notifications)

Thank you all and keep the good working!

    +1

No more glitchy geometry artifacts in scene view
No more incessant exceptions thrown in monodevelop - it finally works normally

    Thanks team!

Yes, I'd like to compare where it is now from the first experimental build where the Project view was extremely slow on large projects to the point it was almost unusable. It has come a long way!!! Great job ya'll. :)

Just thought I'd join the love-in. I'm impressed with the progress of the port thus far - I've developed every part of my game in Debian with these builds, and while it's been a bit bumpy (I still run killall UnityHelper a whole lot :p ), the game is coming along, has survived the transitions between builds, and is getting easier and easier to work on.

    Thanks, everyone.

Agreed, being able to use Linux instead of Windows makes up for the few bugs that are still in there.

And I'm jumping on too, since I run a dual-boot for testing this! :) I'm now currently reviving a project I started 5 years ago on Unity Linux (For those aware of me entering the unity dev contest, that's actually done and dusted for now. :)) and apart from the small crash here and there (it's probably because back then, my game used JS, and I've found 5.3 to be susceptible to that now... ;)) it works well! :)

I still would like to see how some little-big studio (get the reference? :p) would take this on. I guess thats what the "Made with Unity on Linux" sticky was for; to find out that sort of thing. :)

EDIT: And funny enough, sometimes, the Unity Linux editor runs faster and more stable than the windows one... funny that. :D
