Do any Unity employees browse this subforum? It looks like I'm no longer able to use the Bug Report feature in the editor. I don't know how to report a bug in the bug reporter other than by complaining publicly.

A week ago, I received an email confirming that bug report IN-56488 had been received, and the email includes a link to check the report status. However, the report page says "you do not have permission to view this request." This has happened more than once.

Common sense would tell me that...
    • Maybe the bug report is stuck in processing, so the page isn't live yet?
    • Maybe I triggered some spam/AI filter by sending too many requests?
    • Maybe the backend is just down?
    • Maybe my email address is wrong? (I already checked with both of my email addresses, though)
There are many possibilities, but serving an unhelpful error message is obviously a waste of time for everyone involved (mostly me). And by wasting my time, I end up wasting your time by asking multiple questions to find out what on earth is going on.

Anyway. If any Unity staff happen to see this, please take a look at the report(s).

If only there was a place to file a bug... against the bug reporting system.

Extending this Latin, about the only Latin I know: Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I come up with: Quis buggerodiet ipsos buggodes?

A similar situation arises when your debugger needs... debugging.

On that page, check the upper right corner. There ought to be a button that gets you to your list of reported bugs.

Yeah, I've checked that list, but unfortunately it's not there. I tried filtering to both Open Requests and Closed Requests, too.

Problem solved-ish: QA staff replied to one of my tickets and said that the bug reporting system is having some issues, but they were able to manually sort it out and open the ticket that I wanted.

So, it basically boils down to server issues, but with an unfortunately vague error message (and no support other than spamming the forums). But, I guess they saw this and got it working, so I can't really complain.
