Unless I am missing something, can we please get brush texture rotation? It doesn't seem to be anywhere.

i.e. I created a square brush to raise part of the terrain in a straight line while creating raised roads in a city etc. However the alignment is off.

Being able to rotate the brush directly in the brush option would be super helpful in many occasions.

Asking much would be that rotation to follow our path too. But if we could get it behave like other brushes do in all other painting tools out there, that would be awesome and would help tons both in terms of sculpting as well as texturing terrain details.

    Thanks!

Hey! Are you using the Terrain Tools package or the built-in painting tools?

If you are not using the Terrain Tools package, you can download it via Package Manager. The brushes in that package have brush rotation. We don't have anything that allows the rotation to follow the mouse movement though

I have the "Terrain Tools package" installed. Under "The paint texture tab" - They do not have any rotation.

The brush settings should have a rotation value you can modify. It will only rotate the brush mask though and not the painted texture from the selected Terrain Layer.

The point is to be able to rotate a texture to make more complex and detailed terrains, its been 2 years and its still no being implemented.

Hello. Do you have the Terrain Tools package installed? You should have options like these in the Inspector when a painting tool is selected:

If you don't have Terrain Tools installed, then I don't think we have rotation settings exposed in the UI at all

My dear developer, using the brush rotation only rotates the brush mask and not the actual texture.

Ah, the Terrain Layer textures. That would be a separate feature that we don't have implemented on our end, yes.

I have the package installed, but these features are not available to me. There also no way to use a key shortcut for rotation on the terrain bushes. I'm using a MacBook Pro and Unity 2021.1.4 0493223C-7C00-4FEE-A72C-1C17D617ED20.jpeg

Is it only scheduled? Because that would be very interesting indeed :)

c'est implémenté dans Microsplat. Mais j'ai abandonné cet outil parque on est obligé d'acheter presque tous les Assets si on veut s'en servir efficacement.
