Greetings fellow gamers! I need help on where to start with Unity. I have an idea for a game that I've had for several years now and I think it could be a multi platform game. It's a fairly simple third person game where matches takes place on single small/medium maps. I have experience with 3d modeling, concept art, photoshop, illustrator etc. I am not a coder at all. What I need is a point in the right direction. I have been watching the basics tutorials and I have been wondering how do I import models that make up my level such as the ground, trees and other assets etc. Any direction/help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance. -ImTron
Hey @ImTron welcome! Take a solid look at Unity Terrain engine. http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/script-Terrain.html Also, be sure to grab the free projects from Unity on the Asset store and dissect how those levels were put together. The best thing that you can do is open these projects and literally tear them apart. Start grabbing level assets and dragging them around to see how the levels were put together. https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/category/168/page=1/sortby=popularity I'd recommend looking at the Viking Village for grounds/trees and what not. Good luck! Asks lots of questions!
Thank you Bridin, I'll be reverse engineering some levels for a while which is a good thing I really appreciate your post. Thank you again @Bridin
