Box lights question

    I'm wondering from technical and artistical point of view.
    Could box lights exist ?
    Box light could have an boxed-squared-exponential fallof from it's centre.

    Looking from top-down in the boxed room, light distribution would look like this:

    Could just use point light with cookie texture (cubemap).
