When using shaders from other projects i´ve imported i only get purple materials with no textures. Even though no compile errors. I guess it has something to do with the renderpipelien settings. Is there a way to enable materials from imported assets correctly?

Did you figure it out yet? You need to convert them to HDRP shaders in order for it to work. Sorry late reply lol.

While Unreal Engine keep getting thousands of free assets thrown at them, we still have to pay 50 doll hairs for a small scene, which we can't even use in our own developments, because of unique copyrights....

There are no paid assets that you can't use commercially.

All the thousands of free assets that Epic &UE throw by the bucket load at their community can be used commercially, where as what does unity have? This is a very stark contrast to what unity give us for free, that can be used commercially.
Some of us can't afford to spend £100's on paid assets, we have to scavenge and make do with the very little that Unity does give us, not a very good incentive to get users over to Unity.

So my options are to pay a third party or "may be" get something in the future (and we all know UT's track record on those things)? I rest my case. (this is not about solving the problem, which I can do, this is about UT causing the problem)

It's back on the Store, but the version is still "1.1" from Feb 21, 2019.

That's great news! I didn't expect Unity to keep updating it forever (although I would love it) but removing it was just silly, especially in light of Epic showering their customer base with free assets. Thank you unknown Unity person who put it back!
