I got really excited about HDRP when I saw this. But I have not seen anything as near as good as this since then. I tried myself with the top assets in the unity asset store (NatureManurfacture). But it seems its one of those things that's too good to be true.

Has anyone seen anything as good as BOTD or better? I would really like to see it - to bring back faith in Unity. Either I'm missing a bunch of subtle setting changes or HDPR has gotten worse since 2018, or BOTD had an insane number of light and reflection probes to look that good.

It can be done, guess no one has taken on that challenge, as its a big one. Theres MANY sites that show the actual workflow, step by step, of just how they did it.

If you didnt get the same results, its only because you didnt follow the endless work and time it would take to create that, they have a team, each on different aspects of that scene.

The only way you can do it realisticly is, get the BOTD assets, and follow everything they did, step by step.

True, at the time of writing this thread I had imported assets from NatureManufacture that didn't seem to play perfectly with my version of Unity. I tweaked it a lot and got it looking good. But I was still frustrated that things just didn't have that easy/natural look from BOTD. I've updated to Unity 2019.3 and I made some trees and simple SSS materials and now things look really good. My setup must have been a bit odd before. Things now have that quality I see from BOTD.
