    Hi, I am trying to expand the area of the demo and I removed the bounds, and tried to distribute/duplicate terrain assets into a new open field. Unfortunately, depending on distance and camera angle to the certain duplicated assets, (examples are the rough wooden entrance and the surrounding rocks) they pop in and out of existence. This isn't a clipping problem, and when I give that group of duplicated assets a name and click "revert" on the prefab of one of them, the whole group pops back into existence and stays like that until I start the game, at which point they have all disappeared again. I was wondering if you had any idea as to my problem.

    hi @torbjorn - I believe you mentioned april would be the month for a the new BotD - but now we are getting close to June.

    The reason why i keep asking for any date/info - is that i have many clients that are very upset with me/this situation - because my choices of using Unity instead of Unreal + this BotD - and now based on your comment about the release of the new version in april - i chose not to work on some specific problematic tasks - because it most likely makes better sense in the new version.

    Also im not sure how easy it will be to upgrade the project? if you can make sure that it is a "copy/paste" with the new setup - and everything we make will pretty much work wihtout too much work - then that will of cause also help.

    So any info is very much apprecierede.

    This beautiful asset needs to be updated to 2019 ! There is so much useful potential with these assets but only time will tell.

    +1 on this. I would also like to see this environment in Unity 2019.1. The Fontainebleau project was just updated so I'm hoping this one will be updated as well soon.

    Unfortunately the only date I can give is that it will be done when it's done, but it is still an active process.

    There's no way to make such a promise, in particular things like post-process volumes and volumes have been merged since earlier releases, so you'd have to manually upgrade / redo those moving between these versions regardless of whether your projects were using BotD stuff or not. The only thing I can say is that we won't deliberately try to make this more complicated than it has to be.

    Will the new version use the official out of Beta HDRP pipeline, or still use a custom one ?

    SO do I understand this right?
    BOTD Assets only work up till 2018.2x
    Terrain shader layered only works on 2018.3x + ?

    I have a layered terrain shader going on in 2018.2 but its strobing pink
    And a lot of trees turned pink when I thought Id already fixed them.

    The goal is to transition onto official HDRP, but it will probably be a staged thing; I doubt all remaining custom features can be folded into / replaced by official HDRP features in a single swoop.

    That seems to be an accurate summary, yes. The terrain in BotD uses a slightly tweaked version of LayeredLit. It will be replaced by the (now existing) official terrain shader after the upgrade.

    If you say you may do it in stages, maybe just start with modular packages. While Book Of The Dead is good as it is for a trailer, maybe some people just look forward to compatible and usable assets like trees, stones, and bushes. :3
    Anyways, great work and we're looking forward to this conversion.

    Hi.

    I get this very common error when i import the project:
    ArgumentException: Kernel 'KMainTopRight' not found

    its a empty project, i tried reimporting _LocalPackages folder, also there is not tool > open book of...

    that "tools" up there in the image just show ProBuilder menu -.-
    i am in unity 2018.3

    I would remove the 2018.2.0 or higher from the Asset Store description.
    There is actually lots of time wasted.

    Is there any information about next update and Unity and HDRP version.
    Unity 2019.1.x with HDRP 5.13.0 or 5.16.0?

    AFAIK, it's automatically "X or higher", I don't think that part can be edited.

    It s good for the asset store download statistic but actually you are loosing some stars.

    This is a real pretty demo on it's own but because it's so forward-incompatible it should really be plastered with warnings. It's like being given a really nice car but there's no fuel available anymore, ever.

    Adapting projects to use these amazing features is one things but it's a dead end if you can't stay current with engine developments.

    Too soon, Unity.

    It actually works with Unity 2018.4.4f1. I tried it yesterday. You have to make one change though as mentioned by livium in the reviews, quote:

    in 2018.4.1f1: In DepthOfFieldAutoFocus.cs change lines 53 & 57 to

    it works in 2018 LTS, yes
    apart from resolving the attribute definition ambiguity ( pulling it from PostProcessing namespace is correct )
    make sure you choose 3D for empty project, that it uses 3.5 runtime, and .NET 2.0 full profile - the last part was maybe needed just to trigger recompilation which cleared last error after import
    (can't remember the name of the class atm - but it was known in VS project, just unity refused to see it)

    It run without any visible or audible issues for me in the editor then

    Hmmm but the terrain engine grass is still broke?

    So either a working terrain engine or the rendering eye candy as far as I can see.

    Wish I'd known it was one or the other before investing so much time in this

    what terrain engine grass are you referring to ?
    terrain brushes work as expected in 2018.4.4f1 as far as I can see

    does gpu instancing of BotD working correctly on unity 2018.4.x??
    i just did instancing some of tree prefabs on simple terrain, but got horrible scene loading time and framerate results?!!!

    How do u get this to load?

    I click on Open In Unity on the Assets page and Unity 2018.2.21f1 opens perfectly fine but then nothing.

    FYI - using 2018.4.5f1
    Nothing renders at all and I'm getting these errors:
    -
    Assets/Features/DepthOfFieldAutoFocus/DepthOfFieldAutoFocus.cs(53,6): error CS0104: `MinAttribute' is an ambiguous reference between `UnityEngine.MinAttribute' and `UnityEngine.Rendering.PostProcessing.MinAttribute'

    Kernel 'KMainTopRight' not found ...

    ArgumentException: Kernel 'KMainTopRight' not found. ...

    Tried to "Reimport", this doesn't work anymore.

    I'm running this scene in a video studio and want to manually set the Depth of Field according to the focal distance of my camera. How can I use the standard Depth Of Field effect? The AutoFocus setting seems to overwrite my settings. Do I have to write my own interface?

    Nevermind, it's working today. Maybe I forgot the HDAdditionalCameraData or I was on the wrong PostProcessing Layer when I tried it the first time.

    Just tried importing it into 2018.2.21f1 (The only version of 2018.2 on the hub) and it was completely broken with kernal console errors, neither of the scenes worked. I don't mind downloading a specific version to open this but it seems impossible right now ?? (I also tried 2019.3 but that also didn't work).

    Hi, i'm a newbie in Unity i'm using unity 2018.3.1f1 i did import the project like 7 time but I don't know what is going on.
    Error everywhere.
    I did do " right clicking on 'Assets/_LocalPackages" seem to reduce error log but the Scene still dark.
    So please anyone, I need help!

    Hi @torbjorn !!

    Is there a script that blocks the 30fps rate in the BOD project? I'm testing the project in Unity and I can't get it to go over 30fps.
    I have disabled in Unity the vSync to see if that unlocked them, but they are still locked at 30 fps

    Hello, i have a couple questions, i absolutely love this asset package, it is absolutely stunning!!! first question, can i use the blacksmith pack with this asset? i tried once before but i got a huge stack of compilation errors, i really like the buildings and props in the blacksmith and would be great to have in my project,
    second question would the characters from the blacksmith be usable in book of the dead?

    Me again i was wondering if anyone has a fix for this asset pack in Unity 2019.2.10f1? i get alot of compation errors about 640 in all

    CS0246 for the botd scripts for the Core RP CullResults cant be found
    ChangeEvent cant be found
    VisualElement cant be found

    CS0234 UI elements doesnt exist

    these are the most recurring

    i have been looking for a fix, but thus far i havent found one, i am not a coder (i am currently learning this invaluable skill right now) am hoping there is a work around or something that can be done, i dont mind having to tweak the coding a bit (if thats okay with dev) its good practice and good learning,
