Introduction:

This is my first finished unity3d game. I called it "Block Crusher" because the main goal of the game is to destroy and crush as much blocks as possible before your screen fills. I decided to start with a simple and publish for free on some unity game portals. I used 0 3d models to create the game, I just relied on unity GUI. I also created %90 of the textures in this game. The game isn't really that simple because I had to make some complicated calculations in order to place, move and remove all GUI content correctly and scale them with all kinds of resolutions. Anyway, it only took me 1 and half week to finish it (2-3 hours a day).

I will keep updating this game and fix bugs if players find any.

Game description:

As I mentioned above, your goal is to destroy as many blocks as possible. Over time, lines fill up and it keeps getting faster and faster for the Medium and hard level only. If your screen fills, the game is over.
Each block destroyed will give +50 score points. There is also a bonus if you destroy a big amount of blocks at the same time (For example: 8 blocks destroyed -> +300 score points).
There are also special items that you can collect from destroying blocks that have a star on them. There are two types of special items: First breaks all the blocks in the first row and the second one removes all the blocks having a randomly generated color.


Controls:

- Use your left mouse button to destroy 3 or more blocks that have the same color.
- Destroy blocks that contain a star on them to collect special powers/items.
- Press "1", "2" to activate special powers that will help you destroy blocks (Special powers explained in game description).

Very nice game but there is a problem, your blocks are coming from below and there is no chance to remove the blocks on top that look like tower(stacked in a single column). You need new blocks to fall from above so that you can fill the gaps and remove the stacked blocks. This is a friendly advise, I tried to play it a few times and every time I lose the game because I'm not able to remove stacked blocks. I know that is the point but you can lose very easy and that's becoming very irritating.

 

I was really waiting for someone to tell me what's wrong with the game xD.
Anyway, If I'm going to add blocks coming from above that will just make it even harder. I have thought about something else, If you have blocks stacked in a single column and not in contact with another column, the column (where the blocks are stacked) will move right or left depending on its position to the center until it gets in contact with other blocks. What do you think?

Just updated the game on Kongregate:
- Fixed the stacked blocks in an isolated column bug.
- Remove one of the special powers (It seemed over-powered).
- Added sounds when the player uses a special power.


I'm currently working on adding the Kongregate scores API to the game.

 

Final update:
I added the Kongregate API to the game, now you can compete with other Kongregate members to hold the top score.

(I'm not going to update the game anymore, will fix bugs if found).
