Hello! I've got a big terrain (~8000x8000) and a lot of trees. I am looking for a way to optimize the shadows. One of the ideas is a blob shadow.

How can I achieve a good performance blob shadow under trees, when there are hundreds of them in the scene?

Lightmaps seem like they would be a more efficient (and nicer looking) solution for your situation.

Would love to, but baking lightmap for thousands of objects on such a huge scene can be quite hard for any computer. And it's just a demo scene, not the whole world :/
