    Hi,

First of all sorry for posting this in these forums but somehow it seemed to me that Blender community(stack exchange) isn't that much lively.

I started modeling a character of my own but suddenly I realized that I'm modelling it in the Rest Position which is not advisable. I need to convert it into T-Pose.

    How am I supposed to...

    1) pull the arms apart from the body(split via edge loop??)
    2) make it a separate object
    3) align it to the required axis and....
    4) finally merge/weld it again at the shoulders?

Sorry for such a newbie question and I hope "external tools" category of these forums is suitable for asking this.

    Thank you all,

Edit : I forgot to mention. It is obviously not rigged yet. Just preparing for that part. + It is mirrored on Y axis. So I'll be editing the one half only.

You do not have to separate the limb. Among transform pivot point options (Median by default), there is an option for using 3d cursor. Place the 3d cursor somewhere near the shoulder joint, select arm vertices, rotate arm around Y axis, then manually fix points around the shoulder if needed
