I'm trying to UV a mesh in blender, but when i import a texture as my UV image, it comes in completely black. How do I fix this?

The problem seems familiar but obviously I'm not sure what is -exactly- going on. See if assigned textures (in the UV view) are conflicting with any materials and textures applied via the Materials panel. Also make sure the model is actually unwrapped. In short: something seems to be conflicting. Try to remove modifiers, UVs, UV layers etc. to see what makes it work. Sorry if this brings you nowhere.

Sorry, nothing shows up. The textures are being imported completely black, which is weird. without the texture, the material is white, and shows how it should be (Because white is how I set it in the material panel), but adding the texture makes it black and the texture is completely black. Grr. Thanks for the suggestions, though.

EDIT: Don't worry, I tried importing the image a different way and it worked.
