    IMPORTANT: Install for Unity 2018

    The upgrade is included in a Unity 2018 folder, and must be installed either after the initial install of the package if Unity 2018 is used, or can be used as standalone for the minimal project size, if needed.

    To install, double click the file: SkyMaster -> UNITY 2018 and WIP -> UNITY 2018 INSTALL -> SkyMaster ULTIMATE v4.1c Barebone Unity2018.1.0f1

    The Beta versions of infiniCLOUD and optimized SEGI are now also available in the Beta folder. InfiniCLOUD Beta is in full optimization & production quality and requires only a few extra trivial functionalities to finalize (e.g. update lightning and local lights applied to the main script, in water reflection script etc)

    I'm running into a issue with shadows being obscured. It is causing it to looks unusual.

    Hi,

    What is meant with obscured ? The sun light has some settings that best fitted the videos, so playing with sun light shadow options may solve any issue, as Sky master itself does not alter shadows settings, so tweaking the shadow settings in the sun item can regulate shadows as needed, over my demo or prefab default.

    You may start with the defaults the directional lights use for shadows, to see if fix the issue for the used world scale.

    Note on the Night time for the new InfiniCLOUD Beta

    The night time has an issue where the stars and moon may appear behind the clouds, even when the Back Layer system is properly setup (but show less than without the system).

    The issue is solved by increasing the "Far Dist" variable in the volume clouds script. I attach two pics for reference.

    The system will auto regulate the transparency for the night time case, or apply a variable independent of the view distance (WIP - TBD how will be handled), in the next Beta upgrade.

    Hello,

    I have a few errors in Unity with skymaster ultimate. Here are the errors. Do you know how to fix them?

    Assets/SkyMaster/Scripts/V1.0 Scripts/Volumetric/VolumeClouds_SM.cs(234,32): error CS1061: Type `UnityEngine.ParticleEmitter' does not contain a definition for `maxSize' and no extension method `maxSize' of type `UnityEngine.ParticleEmitter' could be found. Are you missing an assembly reference?

    Hi,

    If you use Unity 2018, you can install the unitypackage in the relevant Unity2018 folder, to upgrade to 2018 version.

    This should solve the issue. Note that this package can also be used as standalone, if you need to have the minimal disk space taken in your project and have no need for the demo files.

    So you can import only this file during the import phase and use the included prefab to get started, in prefabs folder.

    Let me know if this addresses the problem.

    Hi,

    You do not need to import again, but to double click on the unity package in the unity 2018 folder, to override what was initially imported, with the 2018 scripts. Importing the whole package again will give you again the Unity 5.6 scripts, those need to be replaced by clicking on the Unity 2018 unity package file.

    Hi,

    i just dragged the SkyMaster v3.4 All Systems Prefab into my Scene. It seems that somewhere within that Prefab the Input Keys W and S (or maybe it's the vertical Input Axis) are used to change something concerning the waves.

    What is that and where do i turn it off? :D

    Hi,

    This is the follow mode if the 4 water planes are used and is mostly for 1st person view. You can disable the follow mode by going to

    Water4Advanced(Clone) -> WaterHeightSM script -> Disable "FollowBoat" or "FollowCamera" checkboxes

    You can also disable the boat script "WaterHeightSM" completely, this is mostly a template to use to see how to sample the wave height and it is not meant as a full game controller, so is mostly used in demos and as sample case.

    The file is in "SkyMaster - > UNITY 2018 and WIP -> UNITY 2018 INSTALL -> SkyMaster ULTIMATE v4.1c Barebone Unity2018.1.0f1"

    You can double click on it, from within Unity GUI in assets and will import the Unity 2018 scripts and shaders.

    +1 vote for a discord. You will find that it will make your life less work rather than more, since users can help each other out and take some of the support load off your shoulders. It's very easy to set up.

    Hi Nasos,

    I initially imported the full set of files from the Asset Store and then double click on the 2018 WIP. When I double click on the package in Unity 2018.1.0f2 absolutely nothing happens. Can you tell me what I can check to see if anything was actually imported?

    What Unity version is used ? Normally it would start another import window and select which assets to import, which would replace the old Unity 5.6 ones.

    I can check in the exact Unity version used though if there is an issue with the import, since i have only tested it in the Unity 2018.1.0f1 (64-bit) version

    You can see if it was imported because you will not see any error messages after import, since i have all Unity 2018 issues covered with the 2018 patch.

    The name of the file to double click is "SkyMaster ULTIMATE v4.1c Barebone Unity2018.1.0f1" for reference

    Hi,

    Is it possible to take the optimized SEGI from your asset and use it by itself in a separate project or is it integrated deeply with Sky Master specifically?

    For this first beta release there is no tie to sky master specifically, so can be used separately

    Note on Sky Master ULTIMATE and InfiniGRASS in Unity 2018, errors when building project

    It came to my attention that in Unity 2018 there was an issue when building the project with some of the shaders.

    The errors can be fixed using the following changes and pressing on the error (double click) to move to the
    error spot in the shader (so not search for the line manually)

    If the error mentions _Shadowcoords, add in the #pragma definitions (may be in more than one spots) the following:
    #pragma multi_compile_fwdbase nolightmap //v4.1

    If the error mentions unexpected token ";", change the "float attenuation" line in the below lines, with the UNITY_LIGHT_ATTENUATION function and comment out the "float attenuation" line:
    //float attenuation = LIGHT_ATTENUATION(i);
    UNITY_LIGHT_ATTENUATION(attenuation, i, i.posWorld.xyz);

    I will post updates to the store and Google Drive downloads too asap, with the fixes included.

    Hi,

    Not sure on this, it should continue normally, i have tried install the store version directly and had no issue. It gets stuck forever in the same dialog for example ? That seems like Unity bug, maybe try to redownload the asset in case something is wrong with the download ?

    I've noticed that Unity announced to removing the Legacy Particle System at ver.2018.3.0, finally.
    Will this change affect on products?

    I have upgraded everything to Unity 2018, so would not. Some of the 2018 versions of the assets are available in Google Drive though currently, so they are provided on demand.

    Note on Sky Master ULTIMATE in Unity 2018.2

    The latest Unity update may create issue with the build in Unity 2018.2, this is because some of the items named "Lightning Emitter" have Legacy Particle components attached in the scene. Removing them will enable the build to run properly. An update is in the works and will be uploaded to Google Drive today that solves all Unity 2018 related issues and handle all the new bugs Unity introduced.

    Hi,

    I recently bought this asset, it looks phenomenal and there are a lot of ratings saying it performs well in VR which was a major factor when deciding over competing assets. There are so many settings though that I immediately ran into a roadblock: I can't seem to find a way to rotate the North direction of the sunlight system. Surely this is possible?

    I'm making architectural VR environments based on real-world locations and my sunlight needs to be correct. I can set up lat and lon just fine, but the north direction looks to be locked to the world Z axis and I could find no way of adjusting that. I don't want to rotate my level geometry because obviously I'd rather have my rectangular buildings oriented to the cardinal axes, than some arbitrary direction.

    How can I adjust the north direction of the sunlight system?

    I checked and the north is indeed fixed, i will add an option to rotate it and send a patch asap. I am not sure how easy will be to implement this new feature though, but i hope i can do it fast. I will get back with the progress.

    UPDATE for UNITY 2018.2, FULL RELEASE (v4.2a)

    The native Unity 2018.2 version of the system with all fixes (e.f. build crashes due to Legacy Particle components etc), updates and new features (including the cascade SEGI optimization) is now ready for Google Drive download !!!

    Let me know in PM and i will send a link asap. Also i will submit it to the store tomorrow so would be up sometime next week.

    The Barebone version is now integrated in the system and the extra demos and their assets are separated in the EXTRA DEMO ASSETS folders inside Gi Proxy and SkyMaster folders (check the README file for details), thus can be easilly removed if need to save space in the project and there is no need for the extra demos.

    The latest v4.0 clouds are also now integrated and demos and a new prefab are included (also demo for mobile).

    The new update for UNITY 2018.2 (v4.2a) has been submitted to the store and pending review.

    Make sure to upgrade to the new version if Unity 2018 is used.

    The system can be immediately downloaded from Google Drive on PM request.

    The system also contains a Legacy to Shuriken particle converter
    , that can convert in whole project and assets or just the current scenes (may be needed for existing scenes that are not linked to prefabs or copied assets and prefabs).

    Are new features provide too for Unity 2017 LTS, or you moved support version to Unity 2018?
