    Oh, that's really? I'm searching around to find better Unity version to use, for now.
    2017.1 is suitable version compared to the 5.6 periods? I know that 5.6 versions have strange bugs, compare than 5.3 periods.
    But also I have fear to use latest version because it might has serious bugs.:confused:

    I prefer 5.6.3 but cant use for Android only right now, PC was fine.....2017.1 has alot of bugs, but I can use it .......for Android... so if your 5.6.3 works, for Android, I would use it.

    The prefabs I will make in 5.6 will work directly in 2017 version too I suppose. I will also give some testing there too

    ya can't do much about it, Unity don't test there stuff... So Android version for me is 100% unusable. for 5.6.3 . I can use PC fine, but not Android, it crashes, Sky Master, AQUA, and a few other assets I use only.

    Have you tried lower versions of 5.6 ? I use 5.6.2f1 for the development

    Yup all of them. 5.6 all the way through, it crashes every time, with Sky Master, and a few other assets.

    5.5 is fine, all versions, 2017.1 is fine, havent tried any other 2017. version besides 2017.1 as I hate updating to beta versions, to many issues...

    5.6.3 was perfect for PC... with Sky Master as well... no idea.. to be honest so I gave up as I'm in the middle of development of an Android release hopefully soon...

    and next year possible for a new PC Steam , XB1 game. So I been super busy to keeping messing with Unity's stuff...They did something wrong, for sure....no idea what. I had wierd issues with Scripting Inspector 3 as well. different issue. for Android, but was Unity related issue. as well.. SO seems 5.6 for Android is messed up for some people.


    The LOG SAID it keep saying (0xc0000005) 'Access violation'.

    So not sure .

    I did some searching and found out a few links that might want to try and see if some of that solves the issue.

    Probably is something Unity overlooked and could be fixed

    ya I went through many of these and others I found on line, nothing fixed it, so I gave up, I dont even have 5.6/3 installed anymore I spent days on it, and it put me behide, so I cant bother with it anymore.

    If nothing worked indeed is better to move on to 2017. I will be focusing on 2017 as well for next versions as it seems will be the most supported

    A note about cloud coloration issues in Unity 5.6

    It has come to my attention that Unity 5.6+ has an issue with the shader volume clouds going dark just after the play mode is turned off (in editor) then back to normal. This is caused by the Sun light mode which is set in "Mixed", placing the light to "Real time" mode fixes the issue.

    I will investigate further what the new modes do exactly to fix the issue in Mixed mode (if possible, as the clouds color depends on sun light and how it is internally handled in the shader). I have not tested this in Unity 2017 yet, so if it was a bug in Unity 5.6 it might have been solved already.

    Work in progress on the new full volume clouds and their reflection in the Sky Master ULTIMATE water.

    The reflection is fully adjustable in color tint and specs, so it can be separately optimized from the actual clouds.

    Is it ongoing, or are you focused on developing new feature?

    Yes, code refactoring would be nice but I worrying that my custom scripts using your methods would be useless due to updating.

    Hi Ryuichi,

    The current API wont be affected by the code refactoring, which will focus on polishing the inner side of code with comments and better sectioning and making code more compact.

    I may replace the current hard coded presets system (previous system before the new gradient based one) with one that will keep the variables in a structure, this is the only major change that may happen in the external side of the system.

    Though the current presets will work exactly as previously from a coding side (you can set the preset directly in Sky Master manager script), the only thing changing will be where the preset values are read from, which opens the way for extra programming ability of the presets as well (so adding functionality, but not removing any existing one)

    If you have all assets i can send a combination demo, let me know which you have in mind and i will extract and send over.

    Generally the look in demos is mostly due to Sky Master ULTIMATE lighting and fogging, and the grass shading due to InfiniGRASS shaders.

    The new in v3.4 volumetric lighting from all sun directions can also make a big difference, because it gives a subtle lighting that is directional-shadow based, which is a step above simple volume fogging.

    I got this error from combining SMU, IT, and IG, how do I fix it?

    Assets/SkyMaster/Scripts/V1.5 Scripts/Editor/Tags.cs(6,14): error CS0101: The namespace `global::' already contains a definition for `Tags'

    Im using Unity 2017.1.3f

    The Tags.cs is left for Unity 4 legacy purposes (and to see in brief which layers-tags are needed if looking at the code), but is not linked to any other system, so can be safely erased from any of the assets without any impact on the system.

    I will change the namespaces for the file in next versions to avoid this collision.

    IMPORTANT - Note for UNITY 2017 users

    I had a report for a bug in Unity 2017, where the scenes with "ATOLL" name can cause Unity to crash.

    This is due to a bugged particle from the Unity 5.3 to 2017 conversion and is the one in the "VOLUME SMOKE" objects.

    To fix the issue, load the demo scene, click on the two "VOLUME SMOKE" objects once (in order to show the particle on the inspector) and then save the scene. Then run the scene and the system will run normally. Probably Unity fixes the issue internally and normalizes the particle to the new 2017 system.

    I will do some extra check on this and get back with more information.

    UPDATE on the above issue:

    I seem to have found the problem. When i inserted from Unity 5.3.2f1 to Unity 5.6, the "VOLUME SMOKE" prefab got reconnected in the demo scenes, while in 5.3.2f1 was disconnected and this somehow bugged the particle. After breaking the connection works fine and my guess is that will also play fine in Unity 2017 that way when bringing it from Unity 5.6, i will proceed with changing it in all demo scenes and testing in 2017 again.

    A Unity 5.6 native version for Sky Master ULTIMATE is now available in Google Drive download (v3.4.9b), on PM request.

    This version solves a few issues including the new depth buffer handling and has a new file restructure, plus new demos. Also all helper scripts are now converted in C# (a few were in javascript) and the Volume Particle clouds use Shuriken particles by default.

    UPDATE:

    The latest Sky Master ULTIMATE v3.4.9c version is now available for Google Drive download.

    This version handles a few extra issues, one is the problem of linked prefabs that should not be linked in the demo scenes (happened during the Unity 5.3 to Unity 5.6 conversion) and an issue with clouds initial color due to the new lighting modes in Unity.

    This is the first Unity 5.6 native Sky Master ULTIMATE version and is recommended to be used for development in Unity 5.6+.

    UPDATE:

    Some issues related to WebGL are now all solved in the upcoming v3.4.9 update, specifically the way Unity handles the depth buffer. Now this is automated in all scripts needed for the various platforms (Mobile, WebGL, Desktop).

    it was an issue with 5.6 any version of 5.6, 5.5 was fine, 2017.1 is fine, it was related to mobile only and some assets, one, asset was yours and a few other assets with water in them.. So had issues with AQUAS for mobile as well. it would crash, Unity every time, I used Sky Master water or AQUAS in 5.6. any version, I hated that I had to upgrade to 2017.1, but I would in time anyways, I tend to stay back a few versions in development due to Unity bugs .. but thats ok, I been using now for awhile its been fine....and no I have not tested 2017.2 I have no interest right now.

    Hi, I was getting a crash in 2017.2 in the Atoll scene due to volume smoke prefab (as mentioned above) .

    One of the Volume Smoke objects still had a ref to prefab (was blue) and would crash Unity if you selected it in the hierarchy. I broke the link by deleting the prefab from the project and the crashing stopped.

    Haven't tried to re-import it as yet.

    ( I bought SkyMaster Ultimate today, so version 3.4.8 from Asset Store)

    I have uploaded a version with the prefab links pre-broken if needed, for all demos. I can send it directly (v3.4.9c)

    Also this new one has many Unity 5.6+ related fixes and some more things so would recommend it for Unity 5,6+ cases.
