We are new to Unity3D and are about to start developing a game using this tool (Unity) which will have an animated introduction, very much like a movie trailer. Can Unity3D be used to develop such animated intro or is it better to use an application like Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite or Blender?

We will very much appreciate your kindly advice.

Really depends on if you want pre-rendered or rendered. And what you are trying to accomplish? Show an example video for style.

    Thanks for your reply.
I do not have an example yet, but the animated intro will only briefly describe the story that the game is based on. This way, users will have a background of the storyline and the goal. I see this animated intro like the video in this link (not more than 60 seconds long): http://unity3d.com/gallery/made-with-unity/profiles/musegames-guns-of-icarus
