I have been working on a 2d minecraft style, and I was wondering what, in your opinion, would be the best way to manage and display the chunks and blocks. Here are a few ideas I've been working on, have a gameobject for each block, store the block in arrays making chunks and having the chunks added to a list as there are generated. Or having a generated mesh for each chunk? Also I would like to have the terrain infinite, but if this is going to be to hard I can always drop it, or add later.

You can easily adapt the tutorial in my sig to do this, or check out any of the numerous minecraft/Voxel thread floating around in both gossip and teaching.
