    Hi Mates,

I know there are threads about this but many dates back to 2012. So I thought an update will be nice.

Well, the question is in the title.
Basically, I started learning Unity and I just wish to get a character walking to several waypoints, play animation and avoiding obstacles (like the AI path entity if you used Cryengine). I am not good at scripting so for a start I was searching for something with GUI or visual scripting. I saw there is out there several way for Pathfinding...

-The Navmesh System provided with Unity
-Using Playmaker and making a visual script or using the plugin for Navmesh
    -Using the asset Rain Indie
    -Using the asset AI behavior
    -Using the asset A* Pathfinding

in fact there is so much possibilities that it is confusing!! Some advices will be great, thanks!

well to start off in order to fully use the navmesh you need unity pro so that could be one out of the picture if you don't own unity pro.

    Thanks Foxter
Well yes, I do have unity Pro so I can use Navmesh.

This afternoon I tried AI behavior but got some issue to assign the AI to a customized character (in the tuto they used the avatar which looked like a biped but I can't replace it with other characters...)
I then tried Rain but the tuto used legacy animation robot while I am more familiar with the recent mecanim

Jeezz, Cryengine was so much easier... You drag your character, then draw a AI path and then use a node follow path and that's it in 3 minutes...
