    Hi good day everyone,

I am new in unity but not in game development i have been using other game engine (Game Maker),I would love to try unity because of its 2d lighting, shader and particles systems which my current game engine cant compare. Currently i have been following of every 2d tutorials in youtube and so far i am learning all the basics but i want to ask some important question regarding the game optimization and other stuff which the tutorials doesnt teach.

This is our game and currently still in development:

1.) is there any other new 2d tutorials you want to recommend for me? or do you have any?
2.) What is the pros and cons of using the new input system? is it okay if i still use the old one? or it was better to use the new input system?
3.) If i want to make a 2d platformer(just like ori the blind forest) , should i use .json files(exported in 2d spine pro)? or stick with a sprite sheet based images? is there any difference with filesize?
4.) My Target resolution is 1080p, so i am using a 1920x1080 with 72dpi resolution for my images, is it okay to use 960x 540 and still use the 1080p res in UNITY?, or should i stick with 1920x1080 for better graphics?
5.) What is the best Unity version you recommend im going to use for my commercial games?, should i stick with the latest version of the LTS? and update it every time?
6.) Last, I am trying to export an image from photoshop but when i try to import it inside the Unity I am getting different file size image, Just like the image below, the size exported from Photoshop is 60.0kb, but when imported i am getting 2.5mb, is there anyway to make it smaller? my file was png. by the way i also already used the crunch compression.

Thanks for answering and taking time with my problems, I'm glad to be part of this community

Looks like you're using the 2D Renderer. You probably want to update more frequently than that because its still Experimental and under active development if you care about having new changes and bug fixes. Since its experimental I doubt backporting fixes to older versions is a priority.

FWIW, my personal update strategy when not on LTS is to (a) lag behind by a month+ as a safeguard against disaster updates, (b) read the forums to see if any reports of disaster updates, (c) read the release notes to see if there's any must-have fix that would justify breaking rule (a). At some point I'll lock into an LTS.
That's because you're using Crunch Compression with High Quality. Crunch does almost nothing if High Quality turned on. Try normal. It will reduce the size dramatically. :)

Thanks, But regarding with the Version of Unity it seems it was better to use either 2018 LTS or 2019 LTS, thanks Really appreciate your help also with the Crunch Compression im still getting the same file size even using normal quality

Probably your sprite doesn't meet the requirements. If it's not power of 2 dimensions, try that. I forget the exact requirements since I haven't had this problem.
