    Hello Everyone,

I'm a fresh beginner to all that is unity, and I wanted to see if you guys could help me with my dilemma!

I'm trying to look for a book (or a well documented online site) that goes through how to use Unity 2d while helping me to brush up on my understanding of code. I have experience in C# (and a little AS and VB though not as relevant to unity as C# would be) and in the past, I had some great materials in regards to the language. However, as I check sites like Amazon, I notice a lot of user reviews/comments mentioning that a lot of books provide instruction without much explanation as to what the code really does with the examples provided.

What would be a good resource to help me start off using Unity? Keep in mind that I also am not familiar with the interface, so this too would be a learning process as well to consider.

    Thanks!

One strange note: I don't like video tutorials - I can't stand lectures as the pacing is too slow and I have a bad habit of learning with music playing as it helps me zone out noises (busy neighborhood, loud noises - can be distracting).

Do what I did (am doing?):

    - Come up with an idea
    - Start working on it
    - Google stuff as you hit it

    :)

This is definitely the way to go if video tutorials don't work for you. but I will add one thing:
Try compartmentalizing problems and then googling how to solve each one. this will give you a DEEP understanding of what it is you're doing and feed the analytical part of your brain that is essential for programming.
