Hi! I'm new to unity, just wanna ask this:

I'm using the Standard Asset "FPSController" in unity and I have downloaded a male model(with animations),
I want to make that model my player character but when I try to drag the male into the FPSController in the heirarchy,
it does only play idle animation even when I move, how do I make it play its other animations(run, jump, sprint, etc.)?

You would need to build a Animator and a controller script that feeds the animator the required data.
The fps controller is not a character controller.

Need some kickstart for animation and use of the animator ?

fyi in case you have trouble understanding what's going on, controlling an animated character running around is covered in chapter 7 of my book Unity in Action.
