I have a shadow problem here in 4.2 that I need some help with. Dynamic shadows seem to work fine when not combined with lightmapping. When I do use a combination of Beast and dynamic shadows, the dynamic shadows are passing through geometry to other objects below it creating multiple instances of the shadow even though it should be blocked by the geometry. In all cases this is just using a diffuse or mobile diffuse shader for the objects. Is this a known bug or am I missing something?
Just to make sure it wasn't my scene I recreated a simple version and the same problem exists...

It's a known limitation of dynamic shadows mixed with non-shadow casting geometry in forward rendering. Even games like Mass Effect 3 suffer from this issue. I suggest switching to a dual lightmap set-up.

Cool - thanks for the help. I'll try the dual lightmap approach and see if I can get some better result.
