    Hello,
My baked animation won't auto play in unity. I exported it from maya.. fbx format. It plays imported in maya, and in unity preview mode, but won't start playing when I put it in scene. In old unity 3D ~3.5 there was option "automatically play animation" in this, 4 there is no such option. How should I start play my animation as soon as I press play button?
    ---------------------------------
I tried another method, importing as maya file (mb ma) and then bake animation inside unity, still no luck.
Its second day I'm not doing anything else that trying to figure this simple thing out. When it worked on old version of unity. Anyone?

Btw, I am very happy that this forum works again !!! When I first started using unity ~6 month ago it didn't worked.

Really? No answer yet ? :O Its been weeks itry to do such a simple thing, no luck..
I don;t have option to play automatically animation in my inspector, where is it ?
First picture is how inspector for fbx animation looks on mine unity.
Second is how it looked before unity 4, when every animation worked for me.

I added "animation" to my model, and selected right animation to play, still no luck.

You have to create an Animator controller and put it in the Field "Controller" of the Animator component.
Clearly in the animator controller you have to put the animation imported with the fbx.

Thanks, though when I opened that controller field all I could chose was "none".
I found what it was. In import options "rig" I changed animation type to "legacy" and it works !!

Because you have to create it first, and then add to controller field.
Right, in this way you are using the old animation system, called legacy and not the new one, Mecanim.

Thank You! Options are great, but simplicity is king.

Thanks! I was going crazy wondering why my animations weren't working. I'm glad that unity gives you the option to do it the old way.
