You have no idea how excited I am to be able to announce this! Cerulean Games has officially partnered with J&Ds Foods, makers of the delicious Bacon Salt, Bacconaise and more, to bring Bacon Salt themed items to the upcoming social game Tic-Tac-Bacon: Xtra Crispy! Bacon Salt themed gamepieces and powerups will be available for players to use against their friends in different games. Tic-Tac-Bacon is a social freemium game where players will be able to compete against up to three of their friends in modern, food-themed incarnations of many classic board games. We've got Checkers, Othello, Baconship, of course Tic-Tac-Toe, and many other games and variants such as Baconator and Tic-Tac-Toe Xtreme! We have developed a custom server solution called Nimbus to control the online social aspects. Nimbus allows a Unity game to connect to multiple social networks at once. This means you could be playing the game on your iPhone logged in through GameCenter, against a second player who is on Facebook, against a third player who is on an Android device through Open Feint, and a fourth player who is playing anonymously without logging in. We have been working on Tic-Tac-Bacon: Xtra Crispy and Nimbus since last September, and will be going live with public betas of the game and service quite soon. To support the multi-platform release, we built a morphic UI system, that can dynamically reposition its elements based on the resolution. This has saved us a massive amount of development and design time on the UI - we design it once, and it works on everything. Here are a few screenshots of the game running in Unity on iPhone (and one on OS X) Check out the games' Facebook page to see an initial preview of the in-game artwork for Bacon Salt themed items: http://www.facebook.com/tictacbacon And visit Cerulean Games' homepage to learn more about Tic-Tac-Bacon: Xtra Crispy and the server solution that will be powering its social gameplay, Nimbus: http://www.ceruleangames.com/ And of course, check out Bacon Salt here: http://www.BaconSalt.com/ More Tic-Tac-Bacon will be posted as we get closer to having a public beta available for all you Unity developers to sink your teeth into!
