Backspace deletes 2 characters in 2017.3.1f1

    I see the bug for backspace deleting 2 characters was fixed and applied to 2018. Is there a local fix we can apply to Unity 2017.3.1f1 to solve this problem as we are not in a position to upgrade to 2018.

    We're going to backport it to the 2017.4 LTS release. Keep an eye on their release notes. Will probably not hit the next one but the one after that.
