    The short answer is we aren't adding this yet.

    The reason is that the above package is intentionally incomplete. It doesn't have things like asset bundle caching or seamless integration with existing engine APIs. It doesn't because those problems are much bigger and will take a while to get done. They are on our list to tackle, but we haven't gotten there yet.

    So rather than provide nothing, a team in Unity has made the above github so that at least the users writing their own asset management layer could have something to build on.

    It is possible to integrate this into addressables, but you'll run into some headaches, specifically with caching.

    Sorry I can't get you a better answer, but these sorts of features just take time.
