    Hi UT Guys,
is there a way to disable Continuous baking by default, so everytime we create a new scene it's not baking instantly? it make unity unstable and always crashed eventhough it was an empty scene.

I'd rather fix the issues you are hitting. Can you send me some repro steps for this?

Hi @rea! You shouldn't have to clear the cache in order to work on a new scene. Please describe the steps that is making Unity crash. Or even better, send a bug report!

Uhh....well okay, so what i did is.
    1. create a new scene
    2. add an object, couple box
    3. save the scene (i have the tendency to always saving file)
    4. add another object
    5. unity crashed.
    6. reopen the project.
    7. everytime i open the new saved scene unity always crashed until i clear cache.

@rea I can't reproduce the crash, please file a bug report so we can have a look at the callstack and your project.

    Thanks!

I would still like the option to turn it off by default, even if you fix these things.

I just find it really annoying.

Uhh this problem is gone after update to B14 not sure if it's fixed or haven't occured yet, i'll let you guys know if the crash happened again.
Also i agree with Zomby138, might be better if this can be turned off by default.

I'd like an option to turn this off by default as well, or at least detect if my laptop is running on battery power and disable it in case it is. I've already created several new projects and suddenly realized my laptop is about to run out of battery because I've forgotten to turn off continuous baking.

Please , add this option to turn OFF the continuous bake by default , in the project settings or something. developing in these beta builds we're bound to crash every once and a while which is fine,

    - but then having to wait 1-2 min while an EMPTY scene bakes and not being able to stop it is frustrating.
if we could STOP the bake while its happening would be helpful to.

sorry to necro thread but this is still an issue in b18

I may have missed it, but with continuous baking turned on it is constantly re-rendering my reflection probes.

This is bad. Sometimes, my case, you have probes setup separately with items hidden. When it updated the baked GI it jacks all your work automagicly :/

In addition to defaults for baking on or off. We need a way to control what is going to be updated. i.e Exclude probes ON/OFF
