Auto Rename Feedback

What do you guys think about how quick the project window files go into rename mode?
To me this is really weird as often you just want to look at some stuff in the inspector when clicking on an asset. Then you have to click somewhere so it stops being in rename mode and be careful with using shortcuts... I think just pressing F2 is easy enough imho, right now it's more of a hindrance than a help that it switches so fast into renaming.
Also there are bugs that come with it when you select multiple files and suddenly you're trying to rename all files at once. Do you prefer the current behaviour or the old one?

 

I don't even want a left click to go to rename at all. Right Click or F2 I'd disable it entirely if i could.
