Audio Source new field: Spatial Blend. Why not just on/off?

    Hi,
    I'm wondering what the purpose is of allowing a range of 0-1 instead of just 2d or not 3d. In what circumstance would someone choose to use a value other than 0 or 1? Could someone explain that to me please?

    I need to add some features to our Master Audio plugin around this new control.
