    Hello,

I'm using wav. files for my audio an with an external player they sound just fine. (e.g. vlc).

Unfortunately while trying to play them in unity (previewing them in the inspector or while they're playing in the editor) I have popping sounds and it seems like there's a big delay.

    All help appreciated!

Here is a very short recording of what I mean. If you listen to the audio you can hear the popping and it definitely seems like it's also lagging. The original file plays much faster. I also have the same issue while just playing the file in the inspector while not in play mode.

Outside unity the file sounds just fine :/ It's a wav format.

Eww, ya that doesn't sound right. Just checking...have you tried other wav files in your editor install?

VLC will play just about anything so that might not be the best test :)

If other wav files work fine, then it might be the encoding of the file. What are the details of your wav file? For example is it 44.1 or 48 khz. What are the compression settings? On builds, unity compresses to .ogg format. If you have the compression settings very high and the wav was not sampled from high quality file to begin with, then that might be what's causing the problem.

I'm sure we can figure this out one way or another with a little bit more info and I'm happy to help.
