Audible Intelligence

    Hey guys, first off let me try my best to explain what Audible Intelligence is.

    About -

    Audible Intelligence is a nifty idea that I came up with, what if, the enemy in the game could actually react to the
    noise we make? Such as for example - if we are running through our level (a horror game) and we see this monster and we need to hide to survive, sure that's fine and dandy, but then again, hiding in real life is more than just hiding behind a wall, what if this monster could actually HEAR you and react to the noise we make?

    I do not mean the sounds in game, I mean the sounds (WE) make, what if this monster could actually hear us breath heavy? Well I have gotten the basics of this created now!

    How this works is, the player will have a sphere collider that goes around them centered to their position.
    This sphere will get bigger the louder a noise we make gets. If I slam my hand down getting mad, this said monster will come charging the last known position this noise was made at, if the noise radius reaches this said monster.

    Another example, lets say we are a sniper.
    If we breath too loud, you could easily program the the scope to get wobbly and harder to get good accuracy.


    I hope this is making sense.

    Right now, it's just in the basic stages, I haven't created an AI just this second that reacts to the sound, but I do have a little video I am about to link on here that will show you how audio frequencies can adjust the sphere collider base on audio.

    it is still a little quirky, and needs working, but I wanted to let you all know about this so I can share progress as it should be finished here fairly soon!

    This will work with (Computer, Web Player and Mobile devices) anything that has a built in Microphone.

    Haha I know right?

    I'm working on sensitivity right now, so hopefully I can at least mask out super low noises.
    Well not really mask out, but make it where if a low noise happens the radius wont leave the players body.

    Or at least allow the option to adjust things to do that depending on the game.
    Because different games call for different types of sensitivity.

    You may start a whole new genre where we start seeing games like infinite runners using this. Clap Runner. Dude running along clap your hands to make him jump. Or more along the lines of other objects responding... clap hands to make objects drop into place bridging gaps and such. Cool stuff.

    Hehehehe, I'm hoping it picks off like that!
    It would be great!

    I didn't make this to replace an AI, I made this tool in order to help anyone who wants to add a depth of realism with the AI hearing you.

    That's all I am providing, i do provide the same very basic AI script that is in the video above.

    But I'm purposing doing it this way, that way people can still program their own AI so it can stay customizable fully 100% and not be restricted to just my AI I make.

    So pretty much, the world is your Oyster :)


    EDIT -

    THIS DOES WORK WITH MOBILE DEVICES TOO!
    (At least it is tested on Android and worked).

    Audible Intelligence has had two different changes.
    1 - NAME CHANGE. I'm not sure if many understand what "Audible Intelligence" is, so I simplified it to something most would understand (Beginners). It will now be called (Once approved) - "Realtime Hearing AI".

    2 - The price will be 30.00 USD, I had it at 20 for a special.

    Just letting everybody know that Audible Intelligence has officially been renamed to "Realtime Hearing AI" on the Asset Store, and likewise the discounted price is no longer valid.

    Is there anything in the next version of "Realtime Hearing AI" you would like to see?
