Question Attack QTE turn based rpg

    Hi! Not sure if this is the best place for this, feel free to direct me elsewhere if it’s not.

    what would be the best way to implement a time based attack in a turn based rpg? Think the Mario and Luigi rpg’s, Legend of The Dragoon, Shadow Hearts, Undertale etc.

    Once you attack you’ll engage in a small QTE where stopping a bar/gauge at the right time would increase damage/add a hit.

    any ideas on pointing me in the right direction would be very appreciated!

    man do people really not know how to do this!? I've been trying to find place to start on this kind of combat for a week and nothing! So frustrating.
