AssetBundle CRC changing with minor unity update

    Just a quick question: does AssetBundle CRC change for a reason when upgrading from, let's say, 2018.3.6 to 2018.3.7 version or is it just a version index being put into CRC itself? Asking this since downloading all of the bundles after minor unity update (if using CRC to check if bundle has changed) seems like an overkill IF the bundle doesn't lose compatibility with older\newer version.
