Just give this another bump as from tomorrow I expect to pay 20% VAT as I live in England.

That's a general rule in the European Union and I doubt that there will be any exception for Unity. Expect to pay the VAT rate applicable for your country (not the Danish 25% anymore, that's at least what it was for me as a German, UK might be different), if not I am pretty sure that Unity will need to shut down the Asset Store and their ordering system until that is fixed.

I think it was 25% Danish VAT for everybody but as from 1 Jan 2015 VAT has to be charged at the rate of the country the customer lives in so for me thats 20%, I am an individual too so Unity cannot treat sales to me as B2B. The whole asset store billing system will need to change as the new laws state that 2 (i think) proofs of the buyers address need to be collected too.

This will also apply to buying the Unity IDE itself.

Afaik the proof is not yet obligatory, yet the VAT per buyer location is. Seems like someone was sleeping at Unity's though...

The buyer location proof is relaxed until June at least. Till then, the seller is allowed to rely on customer location data provided by their payment processing company.

I won't be buying anything else from the Unity asset store until they've sorted this stuff out, since I should only pay 20% VAT, not 25%.

Full respect to unity, I just logged into the asset store and at the bottom of the page was this:

    All prices include 20% VAT

Just shows Unity are on the ball and are a trustworthy company.
