Don't know if this is the right place to ask, but is there any information available regarding asset developers being able to place their asset in the "Packages" location instead of the "Assets" location? I'm working on an asset that is mostly code and does not require the user to manipulate any assets within it. I think it would be less intrusive and easier to manage assets for the user.

I haven't seen any updates to the submission guidelines that would allow for this.

Yeah I thought this would of already been brought up but no google search came close to an answer for this.

I poked Unity support via work
If that doesn't help, I think the best way to get useful info is to start asking seasoned asset store devs how they handle it.

    Hello!
We are currently working on bringing the UPM format support on the asset store.
It will eventually become available, but not in the short term.

    Oh, that is disappointing.
Is there a workaround workflow that you can reccomend ?

At the moment I'm looking into checking out my repo in another project under the Assets folder to publish it.
Looks like this is working but there are a number of problematic folders.
The Documentation~ and Samples~ folders are hidden in the project view, and they are not included in the upload.
The ~ is probably what's causing this, but that spelling is required by the package manager.
Also, markdown files are probably not going to be all that readable.
